Countess of Chester

We, the undersigned, call on the Countess of Chester Hospital Foundation Trust to reverse its decision to bar patients from Wales from new outpatient referrals. The unilateral ban on Welsh patients is unethical and goes against the values of the NHS. There is a financial dispute that needs to be resolved urgently between various NHS bodies and they must act immediately to end this stalemate. In the meantime we demand that patients are allowed to access services at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The old postcode lottery still at work. It’s totally unacceptable! We should be able to go to any Dr and any public hospital in the UK that we choose and have confidence in. It’s outrageous we have no say in who provides our health care… Or not!

I am happy that this matter has been resolved satisfactorily,and today I have received a letter from the Countess with a date for my Cataract operation soon,so thank you.

This situation is a disgrace .

NHS Wales should be ashamed allowing this issue to escalate to the point where common man is denied treatment .
