No to urban sprawl in Wrexham

.

Please sign our petition to prevent further urban sprawl, which will see green fields around Wrexham concreted over for thousands of new homes that aren't needed. We need to build housing for local need rather than developers' greed.

The plan above if for 450 homes on the circus field - one speculative development that will have a huge impact on schools, health services and other services as well as traffic and congestion.

Further plans for huge new housing schemes on the Ruthin Road (1500 houses) and Cefn Road (1580) as well as existing schemes in Ruabon (319) and Llay (365) will mean more urban sprawl and the destruction of green barriers between our communities. It will also mean the loss of Best and Most Valuable agricultural land at a time when we need more, not less, food security.

Please sign this open letter to the Welsh Government and Wrexham Council to show your opposition:  https://www.wrexhamplaid.cymru/no_to_urban_sprawl

Llofnodwch ein deiseb i atal ymlediad trefol pellach, a fydd yn gweld caeau gwyrdd o amgylch Wrecsam yn cael eu chwalu er mwyn codi miloedd o gartrefi newydd di-angen. Mae angen i ni adeiladu tai ar gyfer angen lleol yn hytrach na thrachwant datblygwyr.

Mae'r cynllun uchod ar gyfer 450 o gartrefi ger Stansty - un datblygiad a fydd yn cael effaith enfawr ar ysgolion, gwasanaethau iechyd a gwasanaethau eraill yn ogystal â thraffig a thagfeydd.

Bydd cynlluniau pellach ar gyfer cynlluniau tai newydd enfawr ar Ffordd Rhuthun (1500 o dai) a Cefn Road (1580) yn ogystal â chynlluniau presennol yn Ruabon (319) a Llay (365) yn golygu mwy o ymlediad trefol a dinistrio caeau gwyrdd rhwng ein cymunedau. Bydd hefyd yn golygu colli tir amaethyddol Gorau a Mwyaf Gwerthfawr ar adeg pan fydd angen mwy, nid llai, o ddiogelwch bwyd arnom.

Llofnodwch y llythyr agored hwn at LLywodraeth Cymru a Chyngor Wrecsam i ddangos eich gwrthwynebiad: https://www.wrexhamplaid.cymru/no_to_urban_sprawl

The Council Planning department will go ahead if it benefits them nevermind the Public, like they always do despite objections, it has been shown numerous times! This again is towards Gwersyllt area where numerous buildings are sprouting up, it was/supposed to be a village but is having a lot of pressure put on it, the traffic in Gwersyllt is now ridiculous, having incidents such as cars mounting kerbs (twice in over a yr) & knocking down youngsters!! Ridiculous!

Hit it in one, “City Status” is Council’s ambition. Increased salaries etc all round. Must be very annoyed at being beaten to it last time by ……….St. Asaph.

Are the Council only thinking of monetary gain all the time. No thought for the people of Wrexham and surrounding areas. Do they think if we are bigger, it will give them a better chance o

There are many brown sites around Wrexham why do we have to use are lovely green spaces. The farm is probably very happy to sell though but money alone will not pay for the health issues that will shortly be caused through congestion in and around the town.

Efo gymaint o dai gwâg o fewn yr ardal, does dim synnwyr mewn creu casgliad mor anferthol o dai mewn ardal mor anaddas. Mae’r ffordd yn ardal Ysgol Plas Coch yn hynod brysur yn y boreau a rhwng 3:00 a 4:00 yn y pnawn. Rhaid cofio mai ffyrdd cul cyfyngedig i draffig yw’r ffyrdd yn yr ardal yma. Mae bont rheilffordd Rhosddu wedi bod yn dagfa traffig ers rhai blynyddoedd, mae ystyried codi mwy o dai yn yr ardal yma yn wallgo. Mae’r ffordd tuag at B&Q yn anaddas i’r traffig presennol, heb ystyriedmwy o dai yn yr ardal!

I have no confidence in the planning dept at the council. They work on behalf of themselves and not the people. They have let monstrosities like Eagles Meadow kill the town centre. Time to sack the person (s) in charge and let someone who actually cares about the town do a better job.

“City status” ambitions coming up again?. Where does this urban spread stop. Councillors, Listen to the people who elected you for once. 24 hr. congestion at Mold Rd. double r’about for sure. Don’t any of these idiots drive? Sorry, they must, recent car park re-surfacing priority. Keep at it Carrie, the only one who cares. Remember Rhostyllen and the Nat. Trust?

This cannot be allowed to happen, as it would be disastrous for the local community. Traffic around Plas Coch School is bad enough now, without the sudden appearance of an extra 455 homes.

This is just another example of the lack of foresight form WCBC who – in their current Conservative/Independent guise – are guilty of forever putting profit before people…
