Resurface Summerhill Road / Ail-wneud Ffordd Brynhyfryd

Summerhill Road is badly potholed and local councillors have been calling for resurfacing to be carried out for years. The damage done to vehicles, as well as the danger it poses for cyclists and motorcyclists, on such a busy stretch of road serving Gwersyllt and Summerhill must be costing thousands in compensation claims for the council.

Roads elsewhere in the borough been resurfaced to a good standard that weren't as bad as Summerhill Road, so where's the consistency? We challenge any officer or councillor to travel that road and say the road surface is adequate.

People locally are frustrated by council inaction. We understand money is tight, there has to be a level-playing field when it comes to resurfacing roads and people in Gwersyllt don't feel that applies to this road.
Please sign the petition so that I can take it to the lead member responsible for Highways and the Chief Environment Officer.

I have to use this road to travel to / from work and it’s horrendous for 4 wheeled vehicles and downright dangerous for those on 2 wheels. If the council spent the same time, effort and money on Wrexham’s crumbling infrastructure as they do in their own self serving vanity projects, maybe Wrexham would actually be worthy of the city status the council pushed so hard, and spent so much money on to force through?

This road is downright dangerous. The council should be ashamed letting it get into such a state of disrepair. Patching it and patching it is not the answer. A full re surface done correctly is needed.

Our vehicles are subject to an annual MOT, ensuring the vehicle is safe and fit for purpose however our roads are not safe and fit for purpose. We do our bit ensuring compliance with a valid vehicle MOT. Its time they do their bit ensuring our roads in particular this strech of road is safe for public use.

I opt to come through new Broughton now and down through the Moss valley now to avoid this shambles of a road due to years of neglect. The road services around Rhostyllen and Johnstown always have the word done. Cllr David Bithell and Mark Pritchard running the show feathering there own nest nothing but a corrupt pair these I’ve said it all along with there 50K + a year salary are robbing the council the quicker these pair and moved on the better it’s all about these pair I want I get.

Needs doing asap before a tragedy happens on this road.

There is going to be an accident on this road sooner rather than later as oncoming are on the wrong side of the road coming towards you as they are busy looking at and dodging potholes. Please sort it WCBC before you have blood on your hands. I have warned you.

I regularly use this road to visit my daughters, and travelling back and to with the grandchildren, as I provide childcare for them. It is the worst road in my opinion, in the county.
My last car suffered lots of damage to the suspension but unfortunately we cannot prove that it was this road that was the cause.
Summerhill Rd has been like this for years and it isn’t fair that regular users of this road should have to put up with trying to navigate the numerous potholes that constantly appear along the road.
Please sort this out as a matter of urgency, before there is a serious accident!
