No to urban sprawl

We, the undersigned, are opposed to further urban sprawl locally and the merging of communities surrounding Wrexham. It will increase traffic congestion and pollution, put additional pressure on schools, health services and other infrastructure.

Rydan ni, yr isod, yn gwrthwynebu codi mwy o dai ar dir glas o amgylch Wrecsam. Bydd yn cynnyddu problemau traffig a llygredd yn ogystal a chynnyddu pwysau ar ein ysgolion, gwasanaethau iechyd ac isadeiladedd.

It also has a psychological effect when people are living in a urban sprawl. This was proved in the nineteenth century when houses were built in close proximity to each other, and this is happening in Wrexham at the present time. Doing away with green areas has a negative affect on people’s well-being, resulting in crime, drug taking etc. etc.

This is a disgrace gwersyllt infrastructure cannot cope with housing at the moment no matter about more houses. How will the schools which are oversubscribed and being extended, gp practice again oversubscribed and roads cope. Absolutely ridiculous. Finally we live in Wrexham as there are green spaces to show and take our children too. My children are already asking where the horses have gone from gypsy lane due to the new housing estate.

The traffic is bad enough on the A541 and Stansty Lane at the moment. That can only get worse if this development goes ahead. The A541 has a 50mph speed limit by there. It is already a very busy area. Let’s not make it worse. Stansty Lane is a one track country lane which is getting narrower because the hedgerows aren’t cut back. It cannot take extra traffic. My car got hit by a speeding car going in the opposite direction. We do not need further danger.
