No to urban sprawl

We, the undersigned, are opposed to further urban sprawl locally and the merging of communities surrounding Wrexham. It will increase traffic congestion and pollution, put additional pressure on schools, health services and other infrastructure.

Rydan ni, yr isod, yn gwrthwynebu codi mwy o dai ar dir glas o amgylch Wrecsam. Bydd yn cynnyddu problemau traffig a llygredd yn ogystal a chynnyddu pwysau ar ein ysgolion, gwasanaethau iechyd ac isadeiladedd.

More housing on this scale in Gwersyllt will put increased pressure on the local hospital, the already under resourced doctors surgeries and the traffic jams on the Mold road and the B&Q roundabout will be even more of a nightmare in the mornings and evenings. Eth Elliott

The congestion around here is already a concern that needs looking at without adding to it.

All the school’s in the area are already full.

My father in law was in A&E for 11 hours two weeks ago. The area needs schools, doctors, dentists, not more houses!!!!!!!!!!!

The council care nothing for the town the state of the villages proves that. I live in Llay the state of the pavements alone prove how much they care, and our councillor is the mayor. Says it all really doesn’t it?

If these developments continue to be approved eventually we will have no green land around our town ! Enough is enough, the infrastructure cannot cope with the people who are currently living in Wrexham. The doctors, schools and hospital are fit to bursting !

We need affordable houses for local people, not more executive homes strategically placed on the A483 for Cheshire commuters. And 1) It’s on the exact stretch of the A483 where speed restrictions are in place to reduce dangerous nitrogen dioxide levels 2) The A483 between J3 & J6 is already recognised as a pinch point, with no remedial solution yet in place 3) Plas Coch Road and the retail park entrance struggle to cope with existing traffic, even before the recently-agreed 400 flats at Glyndwr Uni have been built 4) It joins Gwersyllt to Wrexham in one large urban sprawl with detrimental effect on the local environment, and on the fundamental nature of our communities 5) The existing health and education services are already under pressure, and can’t support further population growth

No consideration has been given to the additional pressure on services e.g. Medical Centre, schools, sewerage works, excessive traffic congestion, lack of affordable houses and further erosion of the green belt.

The A483 pinch point program being looked into, needs to be authorised and implemented before any major developments like this are given the go ahead.
