Don't lift the lockdown in north Wales!

Covid-19 has still to reach its peak in north Wales, and the region is now recording more new cases than anywhere else in Wales.

The Welsh Government should keep the lockdown in place until the reproductive rate of the virus (the 'R' figure) is significantly and consistently lower than 1, and both the infection and death rates show a continued fall for several weeks in every region of Wales.

The Westminster government must declare that the borders are “closed” and there should be massive fines and penalties for all who defy the rules. If people who are not going to work maintain stringent measures to avoid contact then those who can or must work will be in a much safer position.
